The second year of
our teaching stint in Beirut we moved to a much nicer
apartment in the recently refurbished downtown area of
Solidere, next to the Parliament building. While it was a
bit further from school, it was in a nice urban area with
shops and restaurants. We have recreated this virtual tour
from really small panoramas, and the resulting tour image
is a bit fuzzy. The memories of our time there, however,
remain very clear. The
photo to the right shows the busy shopping district near
our apartment. (The

we made a video of the original tour, which is now
