The second leg of our Spring 2022 trip with Tracy's sister Alex and husband Ed was to the town of Pula, famed for its ampitheater. Leaving from Rovinj, we headed south and stopped for an olive oil tasting along the ways before enjoying a day trip to Pula

Farm ShopChiavalon Olive OilsEnroute to Pula we stopped at the Chiavalon Farm Shop, one of Istria's award winning olive oil producers. It is a family owned business that specializes in the production of high-grade extra virgin olive oil, using a process that produces the purest olive oil in an ecologically sustainable fashion. All of the ingredients from the harvest either go into the production of the olive oil, or the regeneration of the olive grove through the extraction of seeds and organic compost to fertilize the ground. Nothing is wasted in this state of the art process, as our tour guide enthusiastically explained. The grounds consist of the farmshop housing the processing equipment and
showroom, and one of the many olive groves that Chiavalon has in the region.  We were treated to a guided tour Tour Guideof the processing plant, followed by a tasting in the showroom. Suffice it to say that we did not leave empty-handed! Below is a short virtual tour of the Chiavlon Farm Shop and groves.
