Park Hotel, Delhi
As
Delhi was our point of entrance into India, we spent time at
both ends
of our trip at the Park Hotel in the heart of New Delhi, close
to the
sights and the train station. The photo at the left shows the
exterior
of the Park, while the photo to the right shows the lobby. It
was a
comfortable hotel, with a great breakfast buffet! The photo to
the
right shows the entrance/elevator area of the lobby.
Unfortunately, we
did not get to spend a lot of time at the hotel; on our first
trip we
arrived at 11:00 at night and left at 4:30 the next
morning. On
the return trip we simply stopped in for breakfast and a quick
snooze
before leaving for our final day of sightseeing.
Like
many Asian hotels, the rooms at
the Park are small, but well furnished. The walls are light
colored
with mahogany wood trim. The photo to the left shows the and
the
desk/television area in front of the bed. Although small,
there is
adequate room between the bed and the wall on the one side,
and the bed
and the bathroom on the other. The views are not
striking--it's Delhi,
a fairly crowded and congested area with little in the way
of views.
The photo to the right shows the well-appointed marble
bathroom, also
framed in mahogany. Too bad we didn't get to spend more time
here.
