Kandy

Nestled in the central highlands, Kandy was the last Sri Lankan stronghold. It is also a cultural center, housing one of the most famous temples in Buddhism, the Temple of the Tooth. It is also famous for its Kandyan Dancers, with their colorful costumes and highly stylized dances.
