Fripp Island
Back when we were gainfully
employed as teachers, we would often commence our summer
decompression by visiting Tracy's parents on Fripp Island,
the outermost island in a barrier reef chain off the coast
of South Carolina. About an hour outside of Beaufort,
the island is an outdoor lover's paradise, offering tennis,
golf, biking, kayaking and, of course, beach time. It is
"low-country" living at its finest. The house is owned by
Tracy's sister Alex and brother-in-law Ed, and now is used
as rental property. However, they are always generous with
their accomodations, and block out "island time" when we
visit the US. Below is a virtual tour of some of the scenic
highlights of the island. We always look forward to
returning to Fripp to spend time with family while enjoying
the great outdoors.
